A Temporary Setback

Have been thinking recently about a curiosity Second Cousin Velurana showed me a while back. It was a lady's folding fan, made with metal rather than wood (although I daresay I could make the idea work in wood, too), with the tips of the vanes unobtrusively sharpened. Perhaps not as lethal as a bow or a sword, but certainly more discreet, which would help avoid usual A Sword Is So Unladylike, Dear discussions when visiting family. And could possibly be used to surprise enemies, too.

But I digress. When last I left things, we were pursuing Senwith into the tunnels beneath the altar, aided by a 'compass' that purported to show his direction, as long as he wasn't too near or too far away, and wobbled a lot...
