My Paladin Has No Nose

Having killed the dragon mentioned previously, and taken an inventory of its treasure, we discussed our next move.
Neil wanted to wander off and pray to Heironeous for a little while, in an attempt to regain his powers as a paladin. I wanted to return to the House of Fine Hats to see whether there was any word from the Sensates regarding my membership application (see recent letters); we agreed that with the dragon gone there should be no major threats within the area - although I would still like to know what the malign presences are that I felt so deep under the mountain - and I headed back to Delros with Kanaye, while Neil found himself a quiet spot on the mountainside and the others dealt with the remainder of the treasure.
A couple of days later, I heard word that they had returned to the Temple of Silverlight, and I made my way over there to see what was going on. I found them in the temple along with a rather aggrieved-looking young man - I say 'man', but he can barely have been more than eighteen - arguing about recent events. Although individual judgements on the actions taken seem to differ wildly, there seems to be no real argument about the actions themselves, and I will set them out as they are recorded in the temple archives; I have added a few details filled in later by the young man and the priests in conversation, and by one other who I shall mention in due course.
( A stirring tale of heroism. Or something. )
